Description
Application and goal:
Preventive maintenance and detection of damage and changes to the switch for predictive maintenance (component optimization, increase in service life), maintenance. Noise reduction during crossings through optimized switch systems.
To achieve this goal, WITT Solutions developed the ESAH-M system in cooperation with DB Systemtechnik GmbH.
The dynamic shocks that occur when a train passes over them are characteristic of the condition of rails and switches. These measured vibration signatures allow a conclusion to be drawn about rail faults.
The system will be installed on the track. It records the accelerations of the rail / switch when it is passed by a triaxial sensor that is magnetically coupled to the component. At the same time, the speed of the overrunning axes is measured and calculated by inductive sensors. The measurement results are shown on the display immediately after a pass and saved in the device for later archiving. The results can optionally be sent by SMS via an integrated GSM module. The handy, battery-operated device with its sensors can be installed in the track in a very short time (<1 min) and is immediately ready for use.
