Description
Cooper cable and especially return circuiter of DC-train (single-core cable 1 x 500 mm²) are highly relevant for the system but due to a high value of cooper they are often exposed to theft. A result of such thefts are high costs for repairs, train cancellations and last but not least a high risk for lives and buildings due to possible dangerous contact voltage.
Witt Solutions GmbH has developed the monitoring system “WITT CM 7” especially in order to reliably monitor cable against theft and at the same time the device is able to detect manipulation of the cooper cable.

Shows attempt of manipulation e.g. short circuit of monitored cable.

Reliable detection of cable fault or manipulation in real time.

Recognition of cable fault e.g. due to civil engineering work.

Recognition of water ingress into the cable or cable jacket.

Recognition of all interruption, which might accor due to theft or underground work.

Detection of cable faut with an accuracy of 2-5%. E.g.: Within a 3 km long cable the device is able to dected a fault with an accuracy between 60 and 150 m.

Enables immediate maintenance work and by doing so avoid unnecessary downtime.

Changes on the monitored cable will be detected and displayed immediately.
Following changes will stet off the alarm:
- Cable shorting without short cicuit between guard cicuit and inner conductor

- Jumper of guard cicuit
- Water ingress into cable
