Description
Application
The potential monitoring device WITT EscS (PÜWE) determines the potential difference between two connection points and short-circuits it for a limited time when a preset voltage level (40 to 99 volts) is exceeded.
Description
If the preset voltage level is exceeded, the WITT EscS (PÜWE) responds, i.e. anti-parallel connected thyristors are triggered and a contactor is switched at the same time. The two connections are short-circuited.
After the preset time (8 to 60 seconds) has elapsed, the connection is canceled again.
The number of switching operations is counted. If there are more than five switching operations per hour, an error message is generated, otherwise the counter is reset.
The switch-on threshold is set on the display in one-volt steps and applies to AC and DC voltages.
In the event of excess temperature (factory setting 60 ° C) or a defective contactor, the PÜWE is switched to inactive, i.e. it is not switched on.
Function
The following messages are generated by the WITT EscS (PÜWE) and are available on potential-free contacts:
- Operation WITT EscS (PÜWE) in normal operation, open
- Short circuit WITT EscS (PÜWE) is closed
- Error PÜWE has carried out more than 5 switching operations per hour
- Overtemperature WITT EscS (PÜWE) Internal temperature has reached the limit value, device is inactive
