Description
task
When operating electric railways, the supply voltage (e.g. 750 V DC) must be converted into usable 3-phase AC (e.g. 480 V, 60 Hz). This conversion is carried out by power converters/inverters, which are prone to faults. In the event of a defect, components are replaced. The WITT-PCTB system supports troubleshooting, identifies defective components and performs a complete test – even under full load.
Function
The test bench is connected to the complete converter (all input and output connections as well as the control interface). The test is carried out on the basis of a converter-specific test plan.
Configuration
The test bench is a mobile test console that is connected to the relevant points of the converter.
results
The converter is tested entirely on the train. This avoids costly dismantling and reassembly work.
measurement accuracy
The system delivers certified and calibrated results – tailored to the monitored values and the required accuracy.
Cost efficiency: The external test setup eliminates installation and removal costs, which makes maintenance and servicing more economical.
Advantages at a glance:
- Efficient troubleshooting through targeted identification of defective components
- Complete testing under full load for maximum reliability
- Mobile solution – flexible use without time-consuming dismantling
- Cost savings by avoiding repeated assembly work
- Certified measurement accuracy for precise and reliable results
Ideal for: Modernization projects, maintenance work and system tests in railroad technology.
