Functional description
In the application of monitoring shielded power cables, the CM 200 fulfills the task of monitoring cables with concentric shielding or conductors and insulating outer sheath in accordance with VDV publications 515, issue 4/1993.
The analog measuring unit uses a rectifier to measure the voltage between the shield and the grounding point. As soon as the preset thresholds are reached, the status LED will indicate this and an alarm relay will be triggered.
The circuit operates according to the constant current principle, meaning the leakage current is very low at 2 mA. In the event of a fault, the current load increases to 6 mA. The measured values obtained for each measuring unit can be subsequently evaluated, and signaling can be provided in the event of insulation faults, warnings, and error events.
