WITT CM 200 cable monitoring
Here you can find out more VertriebsanfrageThe fully analog CM200 is used to detect changes between two potentials. A typical application is monitoring shields for insulation faults or interruptions.
The operating status is indicated by LEDs or potential-free signal contacts. The CM 200 operates without auxiliary power.
Description
Below you will find the most important product features of the WITT CM 200 Cable Monitoring
- The WITT CM 200 is used to detect changes between two potentials. A typical application is the monitoring of shields for insulation faults or interruptions.
- The current status is indicated on site by indicator lights.
- Potential-free changeover contacts enable external signaling.
- As soon as the error situation is no longer present, the WITT CM 200 resets automatically.
- The WITT CM 200 is available for different nominal voltages.
- The threshold values and signaling times are customer-specific and are set at the factory.
- Since no parameterization by the user is possible, a high level of security is guaranteed.

Functional description
In the application of monitoring shielded power cables, the CM 200 fulfills the task of monitoring cables with concentric shielding or conductors and insulating outer sheath in accordance with VDV publications 515, issue 4/1993.
The analog measuring unit uses a rectifier to measure the voltage between the shield and the grounding point. As soon as the preset thresholds are reached, the status LED will indicate this and an alarm relay will be triggered.
The circuit operates according to the constant current principle, meaning the leakage current is very low at 2 mA. In the event of a fault, the current load increases to 6 mA. The measured values obtained for each measuring unit can be subsequently evaluated, and signaling can be provided in the event of insulation faults, warnings, and error events.
