Description

WB-TVM Voltage Relay and Data Acquisition for DC Voltage

Voltage monitors for catenary voltage in DC railway systems, for data acquisition at critical points in the infrastructure

The WB-TVM is typically used as a voltage monitor for DC systems, such as catenary voltage and railway track voltage, or as a higher-level DC protection device in DC railway systems, and for data acquisition at sensitive points in the infrastructure. This is necessary, for example, when measurements need to be carried out before connecting the various sections of a suburban or underground railway.
An electrical connection between the sections may only be made if all voltage values fall within a specified range.
Another area of application is the indication of high voltages in safety zones, e.g. on a conductor rail in a metro system.

Function

Das WB-TVM

  • kann als eigenständige Komponente oder im Verbund anderer WB- Komponenten genutzt werden,

  • enables a reliable assessment of the driving stress t on the basis of specific analyses,

  • requires no supply voltage up to 1000 V,

  • offers a high degree of flexibility in data analysis,

  • can store peak values locally and

  • automatically activates the measurement.

The WB-TVM evaluates the measured voltage when the minimum measured voltage (VDC) is reached.

The specialised firmware enables the WB-TVM to filter the operating voltage, thereby allowing for a precise assessment.

Depending on the stored threshold values or optional functions, the measured values are evaluated and the outputs are activated.

When used in conjunction with the WB-BUS and WB-HS components, the WB-TVM can also exchange switching data, actual values and setpoint values with a SCADA system.

Maximum AC voltage threshold

Display: Threshold exceeded

Minimum DC voltage threshold

Value below the displayed threshold

Times
Upcoming event

The time(s) for which a threshold value must remain active before it is displayed

Monitored auxiliary voltage for external sensors

The sensors are connected to the device and powered by it. The current consumption is monitored, and conclusions are drawn regarding the sensor’s functionality.

Number and duration of overvoltage and undervoltage events

>Example: Only when a pulse of < 0.2 ms has occurred more than three times is it counted, and a signal is sent after the fourth occurrence

Any signal delay

Higher-level systems should only trigger a notification when an actual value falls below or exceeds a threshold

Arbitrary signal pause / minimum signal length

Ensuring data transfer to third-party systems

Reliable blocking of external switching commands

To prevent accidental switching caused, for example, by communication faults or external interference, bidirectional communication can not only be deactivated at the firmware level, but also blocked by the compiler.

Operation

The following functions may be offered as optional extras. These may also require WBex components

parameterisation

Aus Sicherheitsgründen wurde auf eine Konfigurationsmöglichkeit Vorort verzichtet.

The thresholds can be set at the factory.

If you require several different threshold values in your systems, you can use our CM1010 / VLD1010 service case. The service case allows you to store different parameter sets and software updates, which can then be loaded via an adapter.

Parameterisation via the SCADA system is possible if the system is connected to a WB-MC or WB-HS.

The functionality of the core components can be extended either through an internal extension OR through an additional WB component or ‘WBex’ extension.
