WITT PÜWE

Guideline VN 37 Earthing and measures for protection against dangerous body currents in distribution networks up to 10 kV.

Description

  • WITT PÜWE meets the requirements of the V37 directive
  • If the values specified in guideline V37 are exceeded, the WITT PÜWE responds and short-circuits the potentials.
  • Potential-free contacts are used for signaling.
  • The PÜWE is designed for wall mounting.
  • All parameters are stored in the factory settings so that you can use them directly.

Functional description

The following description covers the basic functions of the device.

If the preset voltage level is exceeded, the WITT PÜWE responds, i.e. anti-parallel connected thyristors are ignited at the same time and a contactor is switched. The two connections are short-circuited.
After the preset time (8 to 60 seconds) has elapsed, the connection is disconnected again.
The number of switching operations is counted. If there are more than five switching operations per hour, an error message is generated, otherwise the counter is reset.
The switch-on threshold is set on the display in one-volt increments and applies to AC and DC voltages.
If the temperature is too high (factory setting 60°C) or the contactor is defective, the PÜWE is switched to inactive, i.e. it is not switched on.

Digital assets

The following messages are generated by the WITT PÜWE and are available on potential-free contacts:

  1. Operation WITT PÜWE in normal operation, open
  2. Short circuit WITT PÜWE is closed
  3. Error PÜWE has carried out more than 5 switching operations per hour
  4. Overtemperature WITT PÜWE Internal temperature has reached the limit value, device is inactive
